oversupply situations in the real estate markets are nothing new; in one of the 80s recession n overbuilt situations not only owners offered discounts n rent-free periods there were even fitting out subsidies to tenants.the logic was that empty buildings end up with a more costly maintenance bill.
when the cycle changes for the better the owners' gains far outweigh the short term losses.
