McConchie didnt have the funds to develop his technology, and VTI had the funds and wanted to commercialise the technology...its a symbiotic relationship, unfortunately dutes cant comprehend it.
Its never occurred to Dutes that most inventors dont have the funds to develop their inventions, and seek backers, and they certainly dont hand over the patents /intellectual rights to the financiers, only the rights to market it.
