@Latache, many thanks...I missed an order at 21c and chased it up to 50c, waiting for a retrace, eventually buying at 57...and been buying ever since..
BTW 996 gt3 series one... First of the breed and one of 308 RH drives ever made.... But that's a story for another time.

    Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
    From vulcan's twitter feed , a Daimler/Mercedes story from Reuters, July -

'Daimler said that as of 2025, it expects electric and hybrid electric cars will make up 50% of sales - with all-electric cars expected to account for most of that - earlier than its previous forecast that this would happen by 2030.
The carmaker will unveil three electric platforms - one to cover its range of passenger cars and SUVs, one for vans and one for high-performance vehicles - that will be launched in 2025.
Daimler is also acquiring British firm YASA Limited to help develop high-performance electric motors. The company said it would build out 200 gigawatt hours (GWh) of battery cell capacity.
Four of its new battery plants will be in Europe and one in the United States.Daimler said it would announce new European partners for its battery production plans soon.
The EU has been pushing hard to build out battery capacity to counter China's dominance of battery production.'

I guess we now know who their European partners are and that they intend to become battery cell manufacturers.
And what are all Lion battery cell makers trying to do?? Secure supply.... Enter vulcan, stage left...

And from the Total Energies website-

    Paris, 24 September 2021 –
Stellantis, TotalEnergies and Mercedes-Benz have entered into agreements to welcome Mercedes-Benz as a new partner of Automotive Cells Company (ACC).
The transaction is subject to agreement on definitive documentation and customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Following its entry, the partners commit to increase ACC’s industrial capacity to at least 120 GWh by 2030.ACC results from the initiative taken in 2020 by Stellantis and TotalEnergies, together with its affiliate Saft, and supported by the French, German and European authorities, to create a European battery champion for electric vehicles.
The entry of Mercedes-Benz in ACC is a clear demonstration of its industrial progress and of the merits of the project, which it will strengthen.ACC’s objective is to develop and produce battery cells and modules for electric vehicles with a focus on safety, performance and competitiveness, while ensuring the highest level of quality and the lowest carbon footprint.
The updated ACC capacity plan will mobilize an investment of more than seven billion euros, which will be supported by subsidies and financed by equity and debt. The creation of this European battery champion will support Europe to address the challenges of the energy transition in mobility, ensure its security of supply of a key component for the electric car industry.

    Key take aways-
LOWEST CARBON FOOTPRINT - Who else but Vulcan, with Zero Carbon Footprint.
ENSURE ITS SECURITY OF SUPPLY - Once again Vulcan, in Germany for Germany/EU.

There will be no BS geo-political situations with Vulcan and its customers.

    From the Mercedes website-

With Ambition 2039, Mercedes-Benz is pursuing the goal of CO2 neutrality along the entire value chain. The CO2 neutral production of battery cells is an important component, and a specific requirement for all partners. ACC will therefore primarily use electricity from renewable energies for the production of high-performance battery technologies. Other important sustainability aspects are the responsible sourcing of raw materials and the intelligent use of resources.

From a Reuters article in May ( an oldie but a goodie)-

Kreuter says he is already in talks with cathode and battery manufacturers, as well as auto OEMs. Spokespersons for Mercedes-Benz expressed interest in sourcing lithium from the Rhine Valley deposits, but all parties acknowledge that it will take time for substantial volumes to be delivered.

Anyway, you guys get the picture.

    Good luck everyone.....
