Funny things are that those Citizen initiatives try to picture geothermal energy in a way that it‘s harming nature. They are filming the geothermal plants and pointing out that they are making noise or realeasing clouds of polluted air.
The fact is that those clouds are filmed during cold days… we all know what happens with warm air on cold days. They are talking about the noise, that the geothermal plant is build into forests and destroying the nature there. This is so ridiculous. I flew over Landau and Insheim. Both were build directly adjacent to rail road tracks and German autobahn!!! Wondering what is louder here? Railroad or autobahn? Must be a super happy nature place there.
Insheim even has a water cleaning facility directly nearby.
i came to the belief that there is no dialog possible with those people as they know that there are good arguments for using geothermal energy. They just don’t want it to happen in there neighborhoods as they give zero f*s for younger generations.
