"Opel already has 15 electrified models on offer, such as the small city car Rocks-e. Opel wants to continue on this path and sell at least one purely battery-electric model in every series by 2024. “From 2028 we will only offer battery-electric cars in Europe,” explains Opel boss Florian Huettl in an interview with Bild ."
“The lithium required for this should not come from overseas, but rather from the Upper Rhine Graben via short routes and, above all, in a climate-neutral manner. There we want to extract geothermal lithium deep from the ground with our partner Vulcan Energy,” explains Huettl in the Bild interview.
