Toyota are genuine innovators. if this tech becomes feasible, it will be a game changer for Toyota, but not the EV industry.
Unless other auto manufacturers were willing to pay royallties, there is no way Toyota woould share their IP.
Further, one manufacturer isn't going to change the whole car landscape on their own. Toyota is also in a race against time as EV adoption grows and EV tech improves.
