It’s the bitter, nasty and egotistical streak that tells the story. It’d be like having Kevin Rudd as a next door neighbour, constantly demanding to use your hairdryer on rainy days.

We all have stocks we’re not convinced by, and conversely I’m sure we all know and engage with bears on other stocks we support but they don’t. Engagement is often useful and helps a long term investor - or a trader - to examine all sides, test and improve their investing thesis. Successful portfolio management teams at fundies always have at least one pessimist onboard for precisely this purpose, and their contributions are valued. Here, though, we have a couple of repetitious told-you-so cherrypickers who only appear on red days (hence their near total invisibility for the past six weeks) to try to position themselves as somehow expert and chop others down with personal sledges.

If you were a technical chart-following newbie to VUL at the start of Feb and threw just $10K at the stock on the day this “guru” made his last post here (telling everyone that we were heading into the 1s imminently), you could’ve sold four weeks later to whoever was accumulating heavily on the rise and banked ~$17.5K. Society is full of these destructive sourpusses lately, always looking to step on other people’s throats, celebrate downfall, and gaslight in the deluded belief they are better, that they are anonymous, and that nobody has worked out yet who they are.
