I currently hold 13 or so companies. They're all boring, profitable high-quality companies that are hardly of interest to me. Most are small caps. I couldn't even tell you what a couple of these companies do (no kidding), just that the figures look good and continue to head in the right direction. If or when the investment thesis breaks, I sell. Emotions removed. There's not a single stock on my watchlist that I'd buy at today's prices.
But it's companies like BRN and the market psychology that surrounds them that interests me most about markets. There are numerous such companies on the ASX where the reality is detached from the fundamentals.
I did hold BRN once when I spotted a trading opportunity (sold out for profit), and may do so again.
