Carpenters Excuses
1) Early-Mid 2007 - We don't need it - our mining industry is providing incredible wealth to our economy withou the need to introduce this unecesary industry (Uranium) - May 2008 Treasurer Eric Ripper forecasts WA boom budget surplus to dry up by 2011 - He forecasts WA's budget surplus to drop to around $200million - So Carpenters excuses has beens hot down in flames by his own treasurer. WA has the biggest inventory of Uranium outside Olympic Dam so it is the logical industry to keep up the surplus

2) Uranium is a dirty industry and is not good for the environment. - Uranium is now recognised as the only base load power solution in the short term to the requirements of emission reductions. The federal Labour Govt's latest report says WA and QLD can help Australia and the World meet its targets.

3) If we mine Uranium - WA will be forced to accept other country's nuclear waste. - Howard lost the election and Rudd's party will not allow nuclear waste to be stored in Australia. It is against the law and will not be allowed.

All three Alan Carpenter excuses have been fairly and squarely Squashed. He is out of excuses and will be seen as an environmental criminal if he does not comply with the Industry movement from within his own party. His treasurer killed his excuses purely on economics last week.

The Coal industry in QLD recognise that as much uranium needs to be mined in Australia to offset the increase in cole demand from third world Countries. QLD's resource minister said as much last year.

If you are serious about Uranium in WA then here are a list of Company's who lead the pack

Resources
1) BHP - Yeelirrie - biggest Calcrete Uranium Deposit in the world
2) RIO - Kintyre - half as big in inventory as Yeelirrie but under sale at the moment
3) TOE - they have the small deposits at Lakeway and Centipede

Explorers
1) DSN - Only one of two company's with a hope of finding another Yeelirrie largest calcrete uranium portfolio in WA - Also massive land holdings in the cover burdened murchison and Gascoyne
2) UTO - Woking the margins of the Ashburton for Unconformity style Uranium
3) ARM - Parent of DSN - Biggest land holder of Unconformity's on the Gascoyne, Ashburton margins and second largets calcrete uranium portfolio in WA

A number of others with land in the Gascoyne and Kimberly who have some nice stuff.

WA is where it will be found.

AND YES the policy will be changed IMO very quickly
