Short term corticosteroids are no problem for asthma or heart disease, note that steroid weaning (due to HPA suppression) can last months. Puffer administered steroids are common asthma treatments delivered direct into the lungs to avoid wider side-effects.
They are a problem for diabetics so an alternate approach would be preferred.
