Since it's a lazy wet saturday afternoon here I went looking through the federal budget papers online and have come up with total expenditure in 08/09 of $280.5 billion and in 11/12 of $373.6 billion.
This means that Federal Labor government spending increased by about 32% over that four year period while West Australian Liberal government expenditure reportedly increased by 54% during the same four year period.
Revenues of both governments have not increased by anything like that amount.
So the deficits grow but WA's deficit is growing the fastest.
