as has been mentioned, there is always a swing against the government in by elections - but the vote did not go to labor. the votes that the libs lost, went to palmer - and the heaps of votes that the labs lost, went to the leftie greens.

it probably would have been better if the greens did not get a seat - and the labs got two - but - that is the way it is.

labor should simply now just pass the carbon tax repeal legislation - as well as the repeal of the mrrt
