the comment by Grylls is one that should be mirrored across Australia....".... I'm very confident that regional Western Australia will see a substantial program of renewal into the future."
Regional infrastructure spending if done to improve access and genuine service delivery will be of benefit to not only the rural communities but also the mining industry and tourism industries......the heart of rural Australia has so much to offer city residents that we all benefit by a strong and well serviced "outback". The LIBS will be better at delivering good government for their partnership with Grylls. I'd suspect the Independents can also be part of the active service delivery agenda.( mad if they don't).
The media loves milking the "hung parliament" news stories.....it helps sell papers so to speak. But the reality is that the numbers have already set the agenda for change in WA. Grylls will be loving the spotlight but it will soon be down to the business end of delivering better infrastructure and timely approvals and permitting. The back log in the huge number of applications is something that needs serious attention. The short term bear market will be yesterdays news before too long and the return to a more confident market sentiment will place increased demands on the bureaucracy. The new uranium industry will place an even greater requirement for competent governance.
PS , Since the start of this thread, the seat of Morley has been removed from "seats in doubt" and added to the LIBS gained list.....2/2.....7 to go.
