Bill Johnston commented on ABC radio yesterday afternoon that to get new supply developed that export was necessary to ensure supply was available in 2030 when a large shortfall was being forecast. The Government needs to encourage Companies to invest now as development timelines require several (6 years) from discovery to production.
The narrative has changed towards allowing access to export gas for onshore producers.
