    It's pretty simple - gas producers don't have an obligation to subsidise manufacturers through sweetheart deals that benefit the consumer at the expense of the producer. Both have obligations to their shareholders to realise the best deal possible - their interests are in direct competition.

    Meanwhile, international customers are begging for more gas, and willing to pay a huge premium.
    Why should Australian industrial customers be given a huge advantage over their international competitors - all at the expense of the gas industry?
