well, I can't recall ever being stopped prior to covid travelling between Qld, NSW and Vic

the old border posts have been gone for decades

only tomato phobic tassie and WA sparrowphobes seem to have issues

but, we have the odd blip - like the Melbourne searches and those WA roadblocks

there's always this continual reminder of the loss of freedom - locked national parks and foresty

of course - travelling the highways in WA now compared to previous decades - we have hundreds of kilometres of fenced roads ------

which is great for not hitting skippy and ernie the emu - but, what came with it was locked gates in fences

whereas one could just pull off the road almost anywhere and go on one's own land - Aussie land - held in trust by the crown - now - people who have a single use lease - they don't own the land - have the right to put padlocks on gates

that's a very visible loss of freedom

    Ozzies let it happen

they also let national parks get locked up - their own parks

the only time they woke up is when some chinese fellas stopped them from walking on a beach in NQ somewhere

but, the writing has been on the wall for decades I'm afraid
