Apparently the State Agreement Bill is now urgent. Debate will resume on Tuesday in the Legislative Assembly and probably will be passed on party lines.
From there it presumably heads to the Legislative Council to be debated by this house, so hopefully it will all be done and dusted within 2 weeks.
Interestingly, there is a State Agreements Repeal Bill which has also been marked as urgent. This Bill apparently removes legislation relating to various prior State Agreements, now no longer required, with other companies. Apparently Colin Barnett doesn't like having obsolete legislation on the books, but I think there may be another reason, such as one of the previous State Agreements conflicting with some aspect of this new agreement with Buru and MC. Any ideas on this anyone?
