Thanks Rabooth and Doodlebugger
I wasn't aware that the Bill needed to go to a committee. According to Barnett the Bill is only a ratification of a deal already struck, so it's already a done deal, hence a committee can't really change anything.
And given that the deal is already inked, I don't understand why parliament voted to treat the Bill with urgency, unless they really are just doing it for show, and/or to protect Buru's market cap.
Anyway, it should leave the LA on Tuesday which should make it possible, if not likely, to get through the LC before the sitting period ends on the 23rd.
It would seem that Barnett would like to get it through ASAP, though the reasoning behind the urgency is a mystery.
Doodlebugger, I was thinking along the lines of easements, or infrastructure, but I've no idea at all really. But they voted to give this Bill urgent attention too. It's hard to imagine why they would do this unless it were mixed up somehow with the Canning Gas State Agreement.
I guess we'll know in a few weeks.
