I have been reliably informed that a large beachfront caravan park/resort located in Busselton spent over $750k on extending their pool areas including a water slide late last year because the majority of their patrons are too scared to walk over the road and swim at the beach. Five years ago about 50% of their patrons swam at the beach and the other 50% in the park pools. Gross overcrowding forced their hand because in the last 3 years the Great White struck and killed to the west at Bunkers Bay and to the east at Forrest beach. It was only in early December a 4 metre Great White was seen lurking in shallow water 100 metres off the Abbey boat ramp.
