No, I just think this is a kneejerk stupid idea and I'm not alone.
Get creative, put out dolphin shaped buoys everywhere.
On Mythbusters shark special in Sth Africa, they had a dummy seal towing behind the boat and great whites doing their thing and taking it. As soon as they put an inflatable dolphin in the water, no attacks. Took the dolphin out, 1 min later it was hit.
The sharks are simply doing what they are born to do, there's no reason to kill them willy nilly.
