Not sure what you mean about Van Eck? Yes they are the ones who manage the GDXJ and GDX ETFs.
Need to remember that WAF being added is still only speculation. It won't be official until MVIS adds it to the index, which happens the week before the rebalance. Maybe Van Eck has their proxies but not sure if they would get involved 2 months out from the rebalance. We're talking about 8-10 days of average daily volume so still plenty of time for them.
Anyway I've ceased worrying about it too much. It will get added at some point. Fundamentals are the driver now. Steady, low cost production, strong cashflow and extension of resources. Share price will follow.
