It's a great financial and social disservice to these countries when the headlines lack all nuance to say "Burkina Faso is undergoing this and that" as if the entire region is one amassed lump. I pointed out before as many people are being shot in Chicago as BF. (Actually more if you count the Juneteenth incidents.) West Africa seems an easy beat-up for clicks by the calamity-thirsty media.
Thinking critically, why do we see regular media hit pieces on Cuba but never Vietnam? They're both Communist regimes. Vietnam always receives praise. Cuba never. No one can answer that. Maybe because the media is not a reliable information source.
