And who will run these mines if they get taken over? There's no way they'll be able to run profitably if they just steal them. No one will want to work there. And locals won't have enough experience on their own. At least there won't be enough of them to carry out production and maintenance tasks long term, let alone grow the projects. If mines get stolen they will be run into the ground and be worth nothing in very short time. Better to take their cut in dividends and taxes over a long period of time.
