It was a disappointing close. The non-conspiratorial argument could be that with all goldies shooting up on gold price news, it's safer for punters to load up on stocks that have zero cloud overhang. The Western media acting as a safe pair of hands for the neocons' desired narratives will have its effect on sentiment. See how biased the reporting is on Ukraine. Any toehold gained by Russia is fiercely resisted.
