In the 1960's negative gearing applied to the family home.
It wasn't called negative gearing but the interest paid on the home loan was tax deductable.
Todays n.g. was introduced, under the guise, to make more rents available via investment.
Workers should have the relief that is employed/enjoyed by landlords, imo.
