I came to Australia in 1974.
The first thing I saw then was the wage decision. 24% Rise. That figure may wrong, but it was a WHOPPER rise.
And the business section was moaning. Inflation was due to jump they said.
But that was the last big rise in wages.
Ever since then the trend has been lower and lower wages.
The Mr Hawke Keating years saw the social accord or compact. Wages was curbed.
And that has continued ever since.
The latest fly in the ointment is Globalisation and the disinflation effects of China.
Meanwhile remunerration to executives has shot trough the roof.
THIS CANNOT AND MUST NOT go on.
It is a basic question of Justice.
I have complained about Ms S McManus and her sometimes disrespect for the Rule Of Law.
She has a point, especially when you see CEOs remunerated whether perform or don't. Just look at Mr Narev and his salary and the blatant breaches of Australian security.
