Perhaps it should be ASIO investigating this dodgy takeover, rather than ASIC.
In reference to The Australian article from November 2010 (which intimated at Wah Nam links to the powerful elite of the political arm of the Chinese Communist Party), perhaps there are indications that Wah Nam could be a front for the PRC (People's Republic of China, Central Communist Party).
In which case, and without foreign disclosure, expect to see most Chinese iron and steel companies directed to purchase ore from Wah Nam.
This is a method of procuring Iron Ore, virtually for free, from what are perceived as naive and weak foreigners. Although it is likely that the bid would not have got this far without some kind of spy or deserter within Brockman.
The Chinese Communist party central bank lends money to Chinese iron and steel companies, these companies pay Wah Nam, who takes the Iron Ore and gives it to the Iron and Steel companies in China, and then gives the money back to the Chinese state (minus some low cost PRC sanctioned wages and transport costs), who then in turn reward the Wah Nam covert party cadres.
