If the demerger proceeds, shares in the new sugar company will be allocated to existing CSR shareholders additionally and in proportion to the number of shares they already hold in CSR at a designated date. This is stated on page 14 of the booklet for the recent Retail Entitlement Offer, ie.....'Eligible CSR shareholders to receive shares in SugarCo pro rata to their existing CSR shareholding at the date of demerger'..... It is not publicly known yet, however, what the formula for the proportional allocation of shares in the new company will be (eg 1 for 1, 1 for 2, or whatever).
In summary, whatever the allocation basis for new shares will be, it appears presently that existing CSR shareholders at a nominated date will end up owning shares in both companies (CSR and Sucrogen) upon any separation of operations.
