Statins also have demonstrated anti-inflammatory action which is thought to account for more of their cardiovascular risk reduction than from their cholesterol-lowering ability interestingly enough. Oh, and there is also some emerging scientific evidence that they can have a preventive/therapeutic role in multiple sclerosis (once again supported by published research). Yes, statins have side-effects yet Ropren can hardly be considered an alternative until Solascam spend a few hundred million on clinical trials to demonstrate efficacy.
