1. A DIAMOND drill rig will start operation at the Eureka Reef at Walhalla this week to help Goldstar Resources finalise detailed mine planning for its Eureka project.

2. The underground diamond drilling program will last three to four weeks.

3. According to Goldstar Resources managing director Andrew King, work on the Eureka project is still in the pre-development phase, but test results so far have been "very exciting".

4. The first significant results from the Eureka Bulk Sampling Program released last month reinforced the mining potential and high grade of the reef.

5. They also confirmed the size and position of the quartz reef structures within the Eureka Dyke Bulge.

6. "We're waiting now on delivery of the bulk sample results and are hoping to get those in the next three to four weeks."

7. "We now have a very busy period ahead of us with receipt and collation of the...samples, commencement of the final underground drilling program and completion of the Eureka Mining Feasibility Study," he said.

8. "Subject to any unexpected delays, we expect to complete this study during the second half of 2007 and make a decision to proceed with development of the Eureka project before the end of the year. "This will position us to move into production at Eureka during 2008, representing our first gold production hub at Walhalla.
