Just back from the fishing and we found Alvin all blue again. He had heard that Lennie was drilling another water well on widow Milly’s property and he has got very excited.
Alvin was sure that surely, this time.Lennie's well would be successful IF he drilled it where it should be drilled, and drilled it as deep as it should be drilled, and then he hoped that Lennie would not put those drill results into his wet shoes to dry them. It seems that it is not an uncommon happeninf for shoes to get wet, especially when drilling for water, and that newspaper sure driies those wet shoes drier than an alligator's backside.
Took us a while to calm Alvin down, but he sure got calm right quickly when we pointed out to him that it was heard that Lennie had mentioned in the pub the other day that the first two abandoned water wells had been drilled to only 500m and then Lennie had thought there was no chance of finding any water if he had drilled deeper, as he had known that there was little or no prospectivity for water being there deeper down. He said that if he had believed that there was water running deeper down he would have drilled deeper to intersect that there water in widow Milly’s land.
He added to all the people at the bar that it must be remembered that water exploration in widow Milly’s land was at an extremely early stage with little known about the underground rivers in that area. He felt that widow Milly’s land was not an analog to his own project to the south in the Kingston Basin.
That Lennie sure has a way with words, and after listening to what is being said, that widow milly should be kissing his feet for being so good to a helpless old lady who doesn’t know what is what.
So we got Alvin breathing once again and everything is just looking absolutely roses here. We caught a couple of wahoos and that really made the day. Such big fish are so hard to come by but it is no fun to be eaten by one of them.
