Top Ryde riddle
Tom-toms are beating around the real estate market as to the next move at the Top Ryde shopping centre. It's been no secret that the private Beville family, which has just completed a successful upgrade  as measured by the increased numbers of visitors in recent weeks  has been keen to sell the retail component of the massive site. GPT's wholesale retail fund was mooted as a buyer but has pulled out of the race. Valad will be one party keeping an eye on any other possible buyer as it has an investment in the centre via its mezzanine debt business, Valad Capital Services, which has a $92 million outstanding loan.
