Peter Ridd is a interesting example. His court cases against JCU were paid for by a subsidiary think tank paid for by Gina Rhinehart. He was also a paid consultant for the dredging of Trinity bay. I live in Cairns where this happened and you can ask any tour operator on reef about the bleaching and they aren't happy. The economy here relies almost entirely on the tourism around the reef and unfortunately the future looks difficult.
