My dad worked on the spitfires in the Israeli airforce. Was an engineer. He often spoke about what a beautiful plane.
My best effort was flying 2 seater piper Tomahawk out of Bankstown airport and then the microlights in NZ on Waiheke island and Tauranga. I was busted for overtaking while doing circuits at Bankstown airport, had the control tower totally pissed off and they made me land and go back to the school where I was still a learner
Seems like a lifetime ago now.
