I wish to note: on the off chance that someone comments about my crude explanation of P values being comparative to "likeliood of a fluke", or quoting the Lindley paradox - please know that I'm fully aware of this, but I can't think of any simpler way to describe significance levels and p values without an hour long post about statistics, and this description should works sufficiently as a crude marker of merit for people who aren't willing to get involved in the gritty details of assumptions of chance and hypothesis rejection.
