Newsat struck a deal giving the company naming rights and a portion of the capacity, which it will then sell to its existing teleport customers at higher margins. MEASAT is the actual owner of the satellite and will bear launch and other costs on this one. The deal was struck after Jabiru 1 was conceptualised and plans put in place, hence the name.
A final date hadnt been fixed last I checked but its expected to be in H1 2014 (calendar).
