I believe Mr Tolga Kumova of SYR made a well recieved speech at recent Benchmark Minerals conference. Apparently some interesting points on chemical purification V's further grinding to achieve required purity for battery grade/spherical. Seems grinding may cause damage to chrystaline structures and as such chemical purification may actually be the preferred method by battery manufacturers.
No doubt @Prime1 is accross this issue, hopefully he can pop in and give us a bit of a heads up on the topic.
