from time to time, i see a portfolio, which is managed by a stockbroker. the stockbroker happens to be a family member, of the owner of the portfolio. frankly, he is losing money , big time. during the tech boom, the portfolio made a lot of money, but was mainly the result of getting decent allocations of stock - eg telstra, and some of the tech stocks.
frankly, i would not listen too closely to stockbrokers
