    I think that would be what he regards as hate speech. It would be perfectly OK (if I'm reading his position right) to say that you hate Islamic terrorists. It would be OK to say Islamic societies have a problem with being backward and need reformation. If a Muslim said that they hate Jews and all they stand for that would normally be regarded as hate speech and I think the same would apply to you making the same blanket statement about Muslims. A distinction might rest on whether the Muslim says they hate Judaism (rather then Jews) or you say you hate Islam rather than Muslims.
