When Shorten and DiNatali try to link the Orlando murders to our plebiscite on redefining marriage, it just shows how blinded some of our political leaders are.

They are happy to call out opponents as biggots and homophobes to try bully them into submission but are strangely less aggressive in attacking the radical Islamic ideology which would rather have homosexuals killed or hurled from rooftops.

Maybe those wishing to maintain the traditional definition of marriage should recruit muslims to lead the debate. Our spineless and hypocritical leaders would not dare offend them.
