"The Bronx" in the US would be considered a safe place to explore...but I would not hand out at night there.

Same with Harlem...exploration would find few dangers ranking it as a low sovereign risk enterprise...again, I would not go wandering around with a SAM loop, or licking up rocks armed with nothing but a rock pick!

Angola is safe relative to other African nations, especially the sovereign risk issue, but hardly a non-issue for the staff on the ground!

Need to manage one's "presence" very carefully, something Smyth is showing exemplary capacity for re his forging of relationships with the locals "at the coal face" so to speak.

But...I am sure any self-respecting "public speaker" would be equally up to the task.

How about Kathy Freeman, I hear she is available through xmas…her complexion might even go down well with the locals?
