Lets pretend that the app works fine for all users across all the operating systems with zero problems. The speed is slightly increased and the data savings are moderate. How many happy customers are going to then take that next step from using the app for free to a subscription based plan?
Iv been following this drama unfold and I'm not sure iv heard this question raised. Sure people pay subs for Netflix, news, etc etc but for something that works in the background I think that people will feel as though they aren't getting much for their money. Even if they're getting the VPN, higher speeds plus data savings.
You cant underestimate how irrational people can be, even if they are getting the benefits its another thing to get them to subscribe.
BTW I have no dog in this fight either way just trying to contribute something different instead of rehashing the same pro/cons.
