Well if the only price you have to pay to have the ability monitor your childs online activity is to upgrade your phone then i'm sure a protective parent will consider doing so. Some parents will not blink at $80 a year and an upgraded phone if they have to, others will baulk and if they can't afford it then they miss out, that's life . It's no different to having say Foxtel for example, some can afford it, some can't.
