Just tried it with my samsung galaxy tab (few years old) with Android 5.1.1 and no updates to install and the app closes on open.
I generally take a while to update my technology since I don't like getting rid of things that work, so I may not be an ideal customer but when you think about it parents may pass on older tech to their children too.
