I totally agree with your concept of raising equity, however it's the 'proliferation' of small caps enticed by the fact they have a very marginal, if any, chance of success where their owners cash in and then the businesses go bankrupt. I just get the feeling there are far more of them today, opportunity calls I suppose. They structure themselves in such a way that the equity is siphoned off to other entities intentionally leaving a shell that has no business and no assets, yet the owners walk away with millions, and leave a trail of debt and capital loss to others.
My problem is how do you judge a good startup business with integrity from a bad just there to get rich quick, the glossy brochures don't do it any more, they're too easy to make.
