Enjoyed reading this, not much worth reading on The HC AJX thread at the moment.
AJX has undergone a recent CEO change. It is quite normal for a company to report poor results shortly afterwards, as “hidden” rubbish is written off, poor contracts ended, and the decks cleared generally as the new CEO wants a clean slate (and low base for performance comparisons). It is apparent that NC was prepared to take on activities for altruistic reasons, as evidenced by his comments last year on the likely lack of profitability on military. IMO Dirk is more conventional, evidenced by his stated focus on improving margins and shedding low margin activity now frees up capacity. Building higher margin sales and cutting raw material unit costs must improve the bottom line. Its like a reset button has been pressed. The degree of negavity on HC seems to be in inverse proportion to the opportunity provided by the investment. Sure the almost wasted three years (sp wise) is frustrating - but now is not a time to be consumed by the negative emotions - take a fresh hard look at where AJX is now and it now has proven product lines in place awaiting a FR storm of new business from disruptive legislation and expansion of phase change take-up. Got to be a buy in my book.
