just some additional info, my wife was in the area about 10 yrs ago, your post refers to 1987 which is about 10 yrs prior to when my wife was there.
10 yrs can be a long time in business and politics.
some good healthy discussion on RRS in the past 24 hrs. agree with some of it, other bits i've had a good laugh at.
