Israel has nasty weapons also zarlen, as do most of Iraq's neighbours. The issue for Iraq is disarming while all her neighbours are arming. Iraq is not exactly well loved among her neighbours (deservedly I suppose) and would be a sitting duck for aggression from Iran and maybe Israel. The people of Iraq would mostly be worried about being without their armaments and sitting on the second largest oil puddle in the world.

Whether they have WMD or not, they wouldn't want their neighbours to be certain they have not. At the same time they want the UN to think they have not. They love their country just as we do.

The US is preparing an Iraqi regime in exile headed by a notorious crook. They are training an Iraqi militia to do the dirty work on the ground and no doubt they will have scores to settle and unfettered powers.

The guy the US put in charge of Afghanistan Ahmad Karzai was a Sunoco executive. It's all too clear - I wouldn't want to be an ordinary Iraqi right now.
