Drafthorse, it is because Howard (like Menzies during Viet Nam) thinks that in order for Australia to get "world recognition" we should attach ourselves (like lapdogs to their mistress) to the US. It is because, Howard thinks that Aus. IS the lapdog of the US. It is because Howard thinks that Aus should follow the leader in military might, rather than the leader in moral might. It is because Howard thinks that this is his only opportunity to be written up in the pages of HIStory. It is because Bush has promised Howard some trade crumbs. It is because of the large pressure by the Jewish lobby, both here and the US. It is because of at least another dosen or so reasons, equally as tragic and dastardly!
