Interesting Pembroke is selling a 70% majority stake of Olive Downs. Given where Olive Downs is located this operation would be a good fit for WHC, situated right next door to WHC's Winchester South project. I imagine WHC have their hands full with their newly acquired BMA assets, and taken on enough interest bearing debt for the time being...
Regarding BHP's potential takeover bid for Anglo American, there may well be some met coal assets divested if BHP is successful with the AA takeover. Anglo American's met coal assets produced 16Mt of met coal in FY23, their met coal assets as follows: - Aquila: 302km west of Rockhampton - Capcoal: 295km west of Rockhampton - Dawson: 175km south of Rockhampton - Grosvenor: 199km southwest of Mackay - Moranbah North: 211km southwest of Mackay
Both Aquila, and Capcoal are situated roughly ivo YAL's Middlemount operation. Let's hope YAL can put their approx A$1.3 billion of available cash to work and make an acquisition in the near future.
